The 19-year-old American, who impressed the judges with a smooth version of King's Of Leon hit Use Somebody, was a regular on the open mic scene before he took to the ITV1 show's stage.
The thoughtful lad was performing at the Royal Holloway University event in support of Black History Month last year when he wowed the music fans.
